Jaden Update!!

Jaden's surgery went really well and I even did better than I expected. The nurse was getting him checked in and asked him how old he was... Jaden has always refused to answer this question and I was about to open my mouth to answer when he piped up and said "2!!" Michael and I about fell out in the floor. It was quite funny!!! Once the nurse got us checked in they let him go pick out a riding toy to ride back to the operating room. When the time came to go back he jumped on his toy and rode off into the 'sunset'. It was cute and heartbreaking at the same time.

Since Jaden couldn't have anything to eat after midnight and his surgery wasn't until noon, we didn't eat either and we were starved... As soon as they took him back we ran down to food court and grabbed a quick bite. They told us it was a 45 minute procedure and we were gone about 30 minutes. When we walked back into the waiting area they were calling our name to have our post-op consult with his Dr. because his surger was already over!! Wow, that was fast. The dr. was pleased with how everything went and wants to follow-up in 6 weeks. After our consult we had to wait for the nurse come get us when he was finally awake. I think this wait was actually the hardest part of the day.

They finally came to get us and as we walked into the recovery room we could hear him screaming like he was pissed off. And boy was he mad... Once he saw me he got better and calmed down. He sucked down 2 Popsicles and was ready to go.

He slept most of the way home which we were very thankful for since it was a 2 1/2 hour drive!! He ate a really good supper of chicken and cheerios!!! Then he went to bed a little early and got up the next morning acting like his normal chipper self!!!
