Its the Small Things...

Today I was feeding Jaden and he had his feet on top of mine like he always does and I just had to take a picture. It is one of those things he does without any thought and it these small things that I cherish the most. Another thing, is when you pick him up he gives you love pats on the back. Talk about melting your heart.

I just love watching him learn and the little things that he has picked up on. Whenever Jaden wakes up in the night I pick him up and he lays on my shoulder will rub my arm and back. When he stops doing this, I gently flip him on his back into my arms, so when he is ready to go back to his bed it is easier to lay him down. Plus, I can see his face and see if he is going back to sleep. Well long story short, the last 2 times I have had to get up with him, he lays on my shoulder and then flips himself in my arms! LOL! Then he points to his bed when he is ready to be laid back down!! Do you think that I am being played?!?! Yeah he knows a sucker when he sees one! I also love it when he picks up the TV remote and pretends it is a phone and says Hello and then brings it to me to "talk"!!

Attachment progress: I have keep Jaden on a pretty regular schedule and there are days that it drives me crazy. We usually only get out and about on the weekends. I wanted Jaden to feel secure in his schedule so he could at least predict that, since everything else in his life was turned upside down. But now I am beginning to see small results of my hard work! I know it has only been 6 weeks since he came home, but I am so amazed by him. I also know that I still have a lot of work ahead of me but it is so nice to see even the smallest of result to know that what you are doing is working and you are not beating your head against a brick wall!! We had our 1st post-placement homestudy this past weekend and she made me feel good on how we were doing things. Sometimes you just need that validation!

Ok of course Jaden is really cute in any picture, but the reason I took it is because look at Gracie in the picture. She is on food patrol!! Gracie is what keeps my floor clean!! LOL!!
